MADISON, WI (May 25, 2017)- SmartUQ, an uncertainty quantification and analytics software company, announced the addition of Dr. Vigor Yang, a highly-respected aerospace engineering expert, as a technical advisor. Dr. Yang is the William R. T. Oakes Professor and Chair of the Daniel Guggenheim School of Aerospace Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology.
He has received several publication and technical awards from the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) and American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME).
Most recently, Dr. Yang was the 2016 recipient of the AIAA von Kármán Lecture in Astronautics. This honor goes an individual who has performed notably and distinguished themselves technically in the field of astronautics.
As a technical advisor, Dr. Yang’s expertise and knowledge will help inform and guide the development of SmartUQ’s analytics tools and find new ways to analyze and capture uncertainty found throughout aerospace engineering.
From 2000 to 2015, Dr. Yang has published ten books and over 100 papers ranging from aerodynamics and fluid mechanics to propulsion and combustion and is a member of United States National Academy of Engineering (NAE).
Dr. Yang is a fellow at American Society of Mechanical Engineering (ASME), American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) and Royal Aeronautical Society (RAeS). From 2000 to 2009, he was editor-in-chief of the AIAA Journal of Propulsion and Power and has continued to serve on the editorial advisory boards for most major journals in the fields of combustion, propulsion and energetics.
