Modern Machine Learning for Jet Engine and Gas Turbine Applications
SmartUQ is a powerful AI, machine learning (ML), and Uncertainty Quantification software tool originally developed for a Fortune 100 jet engine manufacturer, where it has delivered significant value. SmartUQ has a wide variety of tools including industry-leading Design of Experiments (DOEs), predictive machine learning models (sometimes called emulators or surrogate models), statistical calibration, sensitivity analysis, uncertainty propagation, and stochastic and reliability-based optimization. These tools are recognized by engineers at numerous Fortune 500 manufacturing companies for their unprecedented accuracy, speed, and flexibility, making SmartUQ a one-of-its-kind platform for enabling drastic savings in engineering time and cost.
The first half of this presentation will provide an introduction to SmartUQ software, including a live demonstration. This will be followed by a discussion of how SmartUQ can be applied to jet engine and gas turbine applications such as high and low pressure compressor, combustor, and fan module applications. The session will conclude with Q&A.
