Evaluation of novel weapon systems requires extensive simulation, evaluation, and testing. Uncertainty Quantification allows more efficient use of resources for hi-fidelity simulations and expensive testing campaigns while improving the understanding of the system and it’s reliability. Unfortunately, the complexity of these systems results in large numbers of inputs and complex responses making traditional probabilistic methods infeasible without very large sample sizes.
SmartUQ’s advanced design of experiment tools coupled with accurate emulation technology allows accurate results to be generated from combinations of complex simulations and testing with existing data sets.
Advanced design of experiments and emulation technologies reduced the simulation and testing burden while providing novel UQ, validation, and design capabilities. Now even smaller programs can take advantage of UQ, validation, and probabilistic analysis techniques without dramatically expanding their budgets.
